Funding

Funding and editorial independence

Healthspan Post is an independent health journal, funded by commission from the supplement brands we link to and by contributions from readers.

Commission from brands

When you buy through our links to a brand we work with, the brand pays us a commission. You pay the same price. Every page with these links says so at the top, and product boxes are labelled as paid links. We work with Renue By Science. We don't run ads, publish sponsored articles, or accept payment for coverage.

How we choose the brands we work with

A brand has to meet all of these before we link to it, and we re-check them on a schedule:

  1. Public test reports for finished products, tied to a lot number you can match to your own container.
  2. Named laboratories that state ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, and we say plainly when a report is the manufacturer's own.
  3. Measured amounts that meet the label. We publish our own label-versus-report check.
  4. Contaminant testing, such as heavy metals and microbes, on its reports.
  5. Full Supplement Facts published for every product.
  6. Honest claims. No brand that says its supplements treat, cure or prevent disease.
  7. A clean public record: we look for FDA warning letters, recalls and advertising rulings, and tell you what we find.

Why we work with Renue By Science

  • Renue publishes test reports for its finished products by lot number, so you can check the lot printed on your container.
  • When we checked on October 10, 2026, every NMN report measured at or above its label: 100–102% of the labelled NMN in reports from Summit Nutritional Laboratories and Colmaric Analyticals, laboratories that state ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, plus one manufacturer's certificate. That covers 6 reports on 4 products.
  • Some of those reports also test for heavy metals and microbes, and the results were within the reports' specifications.
  • Renue says its products are made, tested and packaged in FDA-registered, cGMP facilities in the United States.

What we haven't been able to verify: NMN Resveratrol Gel had no published report when we checked; NMN SLC Enteric Capsules 200 has only the manufacturer's certificate; and Renue doesn't say which lot is currently shipping. We haven't tested any product ourselves. Every report and our reading of it is on Batch tests: label vs report.

What we found on the public record: we found no FDA warning letters or recalls naming Renue. In May 2023 the National Advertising Division recommended that Renue make sure its affiliates and an employee clearly disclose that they are paid, and Renue said it had complied. In a June 2025 market survey by Niagen Bioscience, which sells a competing NR product, Renue's NR 1000 measured close to its label and its NAD+ Complete measured about 71% of its labelled NR.

How we keep money out of the verdict

  • We report the research as it stands, including when it is weak, mixed or negative for products we link to.
  • Every claim cites a published study, so you can check it yourself.
  • Brands don't see or approve our articles before they're published.
  • A product link appears only where it is relevant, and many articles have none.
  • Product descriptions match what the brand says about its own product. We never say a supplement treats, cures or prevents a disease.

Who's responsible

Scott and the Healthspan Post team are responsible for everything we publish. Articles are drafted with AI and checked against every study they cite before publication. How we check and our methodology explain the process.

We don't write as doctors or health professionals, and nothing here is medical advice. Talk to your own doctor before changing what you take.

Support the journal

Commission depends on what readers buy. Reader support doesn't depend on anything, which is why it matters: the more of our costs readers cover, the easier it is to keep saying plainly when the evidence is weak. Contributions pay for access to research, our fact-checking step, and hosting, and keep the site free to read and free of ads.
